Data Select Launches Mobile CCTV

Data Select launches Second Sight into the dealer market, a CCTV system that delivers remote access of live camera footage from a mobile phone.

Ideal for small businesses or the home, Second Sight consists of a Webcam and Software that connects to a PC to deliver its service.

Developed by Surelabs and distributed by Data Select, Second Sight is seen as a complementary product to a mobile phone. Once set up, the Webcam operates as a CCTV system, lying dormant until either motion is detected or the user accesses the system remotely by either PC or mobile phone. Motion alerts can be sent direct to a mobile in the form of an MMS or by email to a PC.

Angus Dawe, Managing Director of Distribution at Data Select states, “Second Sight is a unique product which works hand in hand with a mobile phone. It provides dealers with incremental sales and is exactly the type of innovative product Data Select likes to offer”.

The applications for Second Sight include home or office security, observation (including wildlife watching and home monitoring of occupants) and fun.

“Second Sight is a unique product in the growing security market. Previously the technology was only available to people at a cost of several hundred pounds”, Comments Perry Brennan, founder of Surelabs.

Second Sight provides dealers with an incremental sales and profit opportunity and the chance to earn on-going commission. The basic package allows the user to access the camera from any PC in the world, but only when a monthly package is taken with the product is mobile access available.

Already on sale at Fonehouse, Second Sight is proving to be a success with customers, “Once the product is demonstrated, customers don’t hesitate to sign up to a monthly package. The product has also helped Fonehouse increase connections onto Web and Walk, which in turn enables customers to access more Second Sight features”, remarks Clive Bayley of Fonehouse.
