Orange Trials eReader

Orange is conducting a two month trial of over the air newspaper and magazine subscriptions via an eBook reader which will deliver content over the 3G network and WiFi.

150 French guinea-pigs have been chosen to trial the Read&Go service for two months. Orange have sent trialists an Iliad eBook reader with in-uilt WiFi and a 3G dongle to access the mobile network. It's assumed that 3G connectivity would be embedded in the device when this comes to market.

Orange's trial currently concentrates almost exclusively on newspapers, namely Le Monde, Le Parisien, Les Echos, L'Equipe and Télérama, but the device also comes pre-loaded with 30 books.
