You think we liked it? You’re right. But there are some quibbles; it’s a bit oversized and the keypad design is a bit uncomfortable.
It records video only in the ancient QCIF (176x144 pixels) format. It’s a bit quiet on ringing, and the vibration alert also isn’t that impressive. And its memory card is the tiny Memory Stick Micro(aka M2), which is still very new and not especially popular.
Still, the K800 is undoubtedly an exciting phone – a feature-packed 3G handset with a superb display and high-level still camera functionality. Sound quality during calls was fabulous and we were pleased with the reception at all times. Construction quality deserves a compliment, and the weight is perfectly balanced.
And in the dark the whole keypad glows evenly in purple: very classy, and the kind of thing that wins a sale.
