In its preliminary results for 2006- 07, Vodafone Group reported pretax earnings of £11.96bn on revenues of £31.1bn, reflecting organic growth of 4.3%. “Vodafone has delivered a solid set of results,” noted Ovum. “But they show that the fundamental long-term problem of the business, although being tackled, is still far from being solved” – that problem being the heavy concentration of Vodafone’s business in the mature markets of Western Europe.”
