Who's the Fairest of them All? Sony's New 3G Clamshell

Sony handsets have always been synonymous with music, benefiting from the Walkman brand, and photography with the Cybershot series. With form following function they've never really been known for their good looks.

That's about to change with the launch of the new Z610.

The new 3G handset boasts a sleek mirror finish that incorporates a hidden display which can only be seen when in use. This is accomplished using the same technology as the Network Walkman range released last year.

"OLED technology has enabled us to build in a display that doesnít interrupt the seductive, reflective qualities on the front of the phone. And given that Z610 is also a highly-specified device, it appeals to the design conscious that need a phone for every day use." says Eiji Shintani, Art Director, at Sony's Creative Design Centre.

The phone also brags a 2 megapixel camera, 2 inch screen, push email, blogging software, and RSS Feeds to deliver the latest news direct.

The Picture Blog software allows the user to share photographs online, straight from the phone. The user can simply take a photo with the handset and within a few clicks upload the image to a blogsite.

The Z610 will be available in three colours; Black, Blue, and of course this year's new white: Pink. The handset will be available to selected markets later this year.
