2ergo launches secure mobile payment service

Networks & Network Services
2ergo, a global provider of mobile enabling technology focusing on mobile marketing, customer relationship management and entertainment, has launched Payment with Payforit, the mobile payment system initiated by the major UK mobile network operators.

With over 5.7 million people in the UK alone currently accessing the internet via their mobile phone, 2ergo’s Payment with Payforit has been designed to provide retailers and consumers with greater ease of use, transparency, consistency and security.

The main benefits of the 2ergo payment with Payforit are customers do not need to enter any personal details to purchase goods, as payment transactions are charged directly to the user’s mobile phone account. It assists parental control by preventing payments being taken from under-18s, enables retailers to facilitate a cost effective payment service that is simple to use, transparent, consistent and secure, and can be used for one off payments, refunds, customer care, and subscription set ups, payment and management. It also operates through a simple and clear payment system that ensures customers are fully aware of what payments they are making, preventing the lack of transparency associated with premium rate short-code SMS and MMS services

2ergo, acting as the accredited payment intermediary between a retailer and a consumer, will provide Payforit as a stand alone product, but will also ensure that the service is used in conjunction with its portfolio of integrated and converged mobile communication products and services.

Payforit will compliment one of 2ergo’s products, Multiserve, which seamlessly integrates voice, data, text, email, video and mobile internet channels into one powerful mobile software solution. It typifies the company’s range of mobile business, marketing and entertainment products which enable businesses to communicate with their customers in the most cost effective, highly targeted, personal and eco-friendly way.

Chris Brassington, 2ergo group managing director, said: “We’re launching the Payforit service to provide an invaluable tool to both retailers, and more importantly consumers, who are increasingly using their mobile phone to shop, browse mobile internet sites and purchase goods.”
