A Night of Celebrations for Southern Communications

Business Telecoms provider Southern Communications celebrated its continued growth and success with recognition in two major business award events, both taking place on the evening of 17th November.

CEO Paul Bradford collected Hampshire’s Business Of The Year Award at the Inspire ’09 event in Basingstoke, himself a finalist for Entrepreneur Of The Year.

The Inspire Business Awards celebrate the success of local businesses in Basingstoke and North Hampshire. Over 130 firms were nominated, and Southern Communications were judged as the business that demonstrated the best all-round achievement, vision for the future, success against objectives, sustained growth and would be a standard-bearer for success in the region.

MD Alex Moody was in London at the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 Gala event. Southern

Communications were ranked 79th in the country’s list of fastest growing privately owned technology companies, improving on their 2008 position. They received further recognition as one of the finalists for Management Team Of The Year.

These latest awards will be added to Southern Communications’ growing list of business

achievements, which have recently included Sales Performance and Customer Service accolades for the provision of telecoms equipment and services.

Paul Bradford says, “You have to empower and develop your own people if you want to move the business forward and a company is only as good as its staff.”

The company has grown from a turnover of £4m in 2007, to £9m in 2009 and are on target to smash £10m this year. Growth is top of the agenda for the management team and new staff continue to join the business – a testament to Southern Communications’ success during a difficult time for the economy.
