Aastra Introduces New IP Softphone for SMBs

Aastra has announced the availability of its 2380ip softphone for its IntelliGate systems tailored for the needs of SMBs

The new softphone is designed to help business users fully leverage the benefits of IP communications. Whatever their location, mobile and remote workers can be reached on their usual number and make calls from any networked laptop via VPN, avoiding expensive mobile phone charges. In addition, the softphone gives to office-based staff who use their phone intensively much greater flexibility and ease of use such as the time-savings of calling a number with one click of a mouse.

Users of the 2380ip softphone will benefit from the wealth of features usually found on a top-of the-line desktop phone including: automatic call back, call forwarding, click-to-dial and conference call facilities. They will also have access to all the features of the IntelliGate systems including integration with Microsoft Outlook® directories.

For even further flexibility and productivity, businesses can customise the Aastra 2380ip softphone according to their needs thanks to its extension module with programmable keys (for example, you can see an overview of team members and their availability). The softphone can also support both Bluetooth and USB headsets with an electronic hook switch.

The Aastra 2380ip softphone was built with ease of use in mind. Its interface and features are similar to Aastra’s successful range of Office deskphones. So whether you make calls from an Aastra telephone in the office or the softphone while on the move, users can enjoy the same look and feel – no additional training is required. Fox key functionality, one of the trademarks of Aastra’s Office phones, can also be found on the 2380ip softphone. Functions like call back, switching between calls or conference calls can be selected by simply clicking the Fox key.

“The Aastra 2380ip softphone is the perfect application for small and medium sized businesses who want to manage their calls on a PC or laptop, but who also require ease of use, clarity and access to a wide range of features,” said Thomas Stephan, European PLM Manager SMB Systems for Aastra.” Aastra is recognised as Europe’s largest provider of business communication solutions for the SMB market[. We see that applications are playing an increasing role in helping staff members to work and communicate better together. The launch of our new CTI solution, OfficeSuite, just a few months ago was met by a tremendously positive response from our customers.”
