Aastra Unveils New Product Developments

Distributor Nimans is predicting further sales growth of two Aastra systems which now benefit from a series of enhanced features - spanning traditional hardware and ‘new-age’ communications.

Improved SIP capabilities have been created for the Aastra 800 soft PBX platform along with greater DECT functionality incorporating call encryption and voice quality. The SIP theme continues with the latest version of Aastra’s well established BusinessPhone (BP) system now becoming SIP enabled.

Nimans says the latest product enhancements will fuel further growth of both platforms and is making “steady progress” with sales of the Aastra 800 as demand continues to grow for the innovative system, which takes less than 60 seconds to install.

Nimans’ Aastra Business Manager, Allan Merten, confirmed: “The latest version of the Aastra 800 provides support for the Aastra 6739i high end SIP handset and also benefits from DECT XQ technology which provides enhanced voice quality in highly reflective areas such as metal shelving within warehouses. In addition Aastra has created the potential for DECT encryption per device for much easier programming.”

Business Phone v9 meanwhile has also undergone a significant revamp, predominantly around SIP extensions with new features including SIP DECT, SIP expansion modules and also SIP softphone support.

Merten concluded: “Aastra continues to push the boundaries with SIP-based technologies, providing resellers with compelling new features to help win more business.”
