AdMob helps app developers ready for iPhone 3.0

AdMob, the mobile advertising platform, has announced new social, search, and dynamic rich media ad units for the iPhone. These new ad units will be available in early July and build on the reach of AdMob’s iPhone ad network.

AdMob serves ads on high quality sites and applications reaching more than 19 million unique iPhones and iPod touch devices worldwide in 2009. It is actively working with application developers to help them prepare for the new iPhone 3.0 operating system and is launching a version of its iPhone software development kit (SDK) today.

Thomas Schulz, vice president and managing director, EMEA, at AdMob, commented: “Since its launch, the iPhone has changed the face of mobile advertising and we’re now seeing it come of age. With the iPhone, advertisers have the opportunity to interact with consumers in new and exciting ways. Our latest social, search, and rich media ad units will deliver a greater level of impact and engagement for advertisers. Similarly, our new iPhone SDK will enable developers to further monetise their apps, allowing them to focus on delivering a great experience for their users.”

AdMob’s new ad units build on the high performing iPhone ad units the company launched last year and take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the device to deliver rich and engaging experiences for consumers.
