Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions and services, today announced the appointment of Simon Culmer as managing director for its UK and Ireland operations, effective immediately.
Culmer’s priority is to grow the UK and Ireland business and continue to deliver on Avaya’s commitment to support its channel partners. He will report to Mario DiMascio, vice president sales, EMEA.
Culmer is an industry veteran with nearly 30 years’ experience in IT sales and management. He joins from Huawei Technologies where he recently established its new enterprise division. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Cisco, initially as a Sales Manager and later as Sales Operations Director. He has also held the positions UK Sales Director and Managing Director at Sun Microsystems.
He replaces Andrew Shepperd who left the company in April.
