Avaya Ease Application Integration

Avaya has introduced its new third-generation directory enabled management (DEM) interface, a building block that intelligently connects enterprise business applications with IP telephony software, messaging systems and media servers. Avaya DEM makes it easier for companies to link communication systems with business applications and drive new operating efficiencies and cost-savings throughout an organization.

Using DEM, communications resources can be configured and controlled dynamically in brand new ways based on business logic. For example, adding a new employee to a Human Resources database might automatically trigger the provisioning of a new phone extension and voicemail inbox.

Companies can incorporate Avaya DEM capabilities into their operations by writing their own custom applications, by turning to the Avaya Professional Services team for development support, or by using a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection program - an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network. Avaya DeveloperConnection members writing DEM-compatible software include Consistacom for contact centres, RedSky Technologies for e911 and Starfish for a variety of custom applications.
