Azlan is named Cisco European Channel Development Partner of the year 2010

Azlan, the enterprise Division of Tech Data, has been named Cisco European TelePresence Channel Development Partner of the Year for 2010. The award was made in recognition of the major contribution Azlan has made in helping Cisco to recruit, enable and grow partners for its TelePresence Video business over the past year.

The award recognised the work Azlan has done in bringing value-added resellers who were formerly part of the Tandberg channel network in Europe, into the Cisco partner community. It was presented to Azlan by Wayne Stephens, Channel Operations Director, Cisco TelePresence Video, at the recent European Collaboration Partner Summit 2010, which took place recently in Barcelona.

Joel Chimoindes, Director of Unified Communications at Azlan, said: “Azlan recognised the tremendous opportunity and potential that the alliance between Cisco and Tandberg would bring in the area of telepresence, video and collaboration straight away. As a key partner for both vendors, we felt it was incumbent on us to take the lead, ensure a smooth transition into the Cisco world for Tandberg VARs, and present Cisco Partners with the opportunity to learn about and start to take Cisco TelePresence Video solutions to market. We’ve had considerable success in both areas and we are pleased that the significant investment and effort we have been making has been recognised in this way by Cisco.”

Commenting on behalf of Cisco, Wayne Stephens said: “We have been impressed with the level of commitment shown by Azlan to developing Cisco TelePresence Video Partners over the past year. By providing targeted sales and technical development support, Azlan has played an important role in helping then to build on their competencies and embark on business development programmes that will open up new potential for growth.”

Harvey said “Azlan will to continue its investment in Cisco TelePresence Video over the coming year, offering additional education and development support that will enable Cisco Partners to further extend their capabilities in this rapidly-growing area of the market.”
