Azlan ships HP Storeserve 7000 to Channel

Azlan has completed what is thought to be the first sale of HP’s newly-launched 3PAR StoreServ 7000 advanced storage system.

The StoreServ 7200 Array has been purchased by HP reseller, Strawberry Global Technology. Alex Brown, Managing Director of the company, said: “We are very pleased to have taken our first order for the new 3PAR 7000 Array. The way the 7000 series is packaged and priced has made it an incredibly compelling offering for customers who need an efficient and scalable storage solution. We anticipate this new product launch will have a huge impact and significantly increase HP’s position in this market.”

The HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 was launched officially only last week. Azlan had previously hosted a special preview of the much-heralded system in London at the end of November. The event was over-subscribed and Azlan has since received a flood of enquiries.

Nigel Dunn, Director of Azlan UK and Ireland, expects this to the first of many orders that Azlan receives for the arrays. “By bringing Fibre Channel technology and Tier 1 features within the reach of SMB customers for the first time, the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 breaks new ground. It’s the first storage solution to really offer enterprise-class capabilities to mid-sized organisations. It has already attracted a lot of attention and we expect it to be a really popular choice amongst businesses looking for totally ‘bullet-proof’ but affordable advanced storage solutions.”

HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage extends the innovative HP 3PAR StoreServ product line to the mid-range, with industry leading performance and features at the price that customers need. It means users spend less time managing storage and get more features for less, and without sacrificing performance or future scalability. It also guarantees to double virtual machine density; with hardware-assisted thin storage, it is the only platform that guarantees a 50% reduction in capacity requirements. It meets SMB needs and with a common architecture, spans to enterprise-scale, making upgrades painless and affordable.
