BNS Launch of Mobile Office Product

North East telecommunications provider, BNS Telecom Group plc, is launching a new mobile office solution that allows users to work smarter while away from their desk - taking the office number with them wherever they go.

BNS have combined their IP technology with the power of Vodafone’s GSM network to offer a flexible and resilient communications platform that utilises one number for all devices. Voice calls, faxes and emails can be simultaneously routed to various devices used by the customer whether this is a deskphone, mobile, PDA or notebook with BNS softphone installed.

BNS MD, Garry Moat explained: “The demands of today's modern business require staff to often work at multiple locations – whether that is on the road, from home, with customers in their offices or at different business sites. Mobile Office brings together all of the communication systems required by a worker on the move, enabling simpler, smarter working wherever they need to be.”

Built around the BNS IP network extends the benefits of products like Inbound Call Payments, Call Recording and Video Calling from the office to the user who is temporarily or permanently out of the office. This means they too will receive a payment for every in-bound call received and have the ability to record their calls – which is now a legislative requirement for Financial Services companies.

Garry said: “We call this solution ‘in when out’ as it means that wherever you are, you can take the office and the cost and expansive feature benefits of IP telephony with you. There are 3 main product packages which can all be extended with additional service options to allow users to create their own bespoke solution.”

The launch of mobile office comes at an exciting time for Prudhoe-based BNS Telecom. The firm recently reported significant growth in annual turnover, following a strategic shift by the business to offer more IP telecommunications services as opposed to purely conventional systems.

Garry added: “In an economic downturn, businesses are always anxious to save money. The simple fact is that IP based telecommunications systems are invariably much more economic and offer great cost benefits to customers as opposed to conventional systems. We have noticed a significant upsurge in interest for this technology within the last 12-18 months and look forward to satisfying this demand through existing products and innovative new offerings – like Mobile Office.

“Being able to mobilise your workforce to work in the location most relevant for your business is a real competitive advantage. Just look at the recent bad weather which brought much of the country to a standstill. It has been argued that modern communications systems allowed many businesses to keep working from the spare rooms of their workforce – therefore significantly reducing the economic impact of disruptions like bad weather.

“Our Mobile Office solution is an evolution in telecom convergence. It allows the worker to take all of their office-based communications systems with them as they move between locations for work. We are convinced that we have a strong proposition which reflects a significantly growing customer demand.”
