Brand-Rex & DiData In Liverpool Arena Contract Win

Network cabling solutions and equipment from Brand-Rex have been selected in a major £210,000 contract to equip the data communications infrastructure of Liverpool’s brand new Arena & Convention Centre (ACC Liverpool), which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2008.

Brand-Rex, together with installation partner Dimension Data, will install over 140km of shielded Cat6 F/FTP and ‘Blolite’ blown fibre products to over 5,000 outlets throughout the new building, as well as over 4.5km of blown fibre ducting.

“ACC Liverpool needed a high quality, highly-reliable local and wide-area network solution which not only meets the latest stringent safety standards, but also offers users the most robust, secure and high performance solution for critical communication applications,” commented Brand-Rex Managing Director Paul Lines. “Significantly, our air-blown fibre solutions will enable the arena to upgrade and add capacity whenever it is required,” he added.

“This is yet another validation of the strength of partnership between Dimension Data and Brand-Rex,” said Dimension Data’s Managing Director Kari Baden. “Our combined expertise ensured that we secured this prestigious project with ACC Liverpool ahead of strong competition and we are delighted to be working with such quality partners as Brand-Rex and main contractor Haden Young.”

Opening in 2008, the ACC Liverpool will offer an integrated complex combining a world-class 10,000 seat arena linked by a glazed galleria to a purpose-built conference centre, with state of the art auditorium and meeting rooms equipped with the latest telecommunications and data network, cabling infrastructure, wireless LAN and digital audio-visual facilities. The venue will offer a main auditorium with capacity for 1,350 which can divide in minutes into three separate auditoria. A divisible multi-purpose hall of 3,600sqm links directly to the arena core to provide a total of 7,000sqm of exhibition space.
