BT Launches Fusion for Small Business

BT has launched the next stage in its convergence roadmap - BT Fusion for Business - with a product aimed at very small businesses (one to ten employees). It is a few months since BT launched its Fusion fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) offering for consumers. At that time, BT made it clear that the consumer service was the first step in a wider roadmap, and has been promising a business version for some time.

The initial introductory Fusion offer for business customers is £6.25 per month, per handset, including 50 free anytime minutes, a free phone (Motorola V560 or RAZR V3B) and a free hub that can support six registered devices, three concurrently. The offer is available for a period of three months to customers who sign up to a two-year contract before the end of March. After that time, the tariff rises to £12.50 per month, per handset.

BT says the main benefits are to small businesses who currently make a lot of mobile calls while in the office - Fusion will offer 50% savings on such calls, with some exclusions, such as directory enquiries and international calls. The savings are available 24 hours a day, not just in business hours. The offer is linked to BT Broadband (customers need a BT broadband connection in order to take advantage of the Fusion offer) and will be sold through BT Local Businesses.
