Cable & Wireless Wins £1.9 Million Telecoms Contract with Travis Perkins

C&W has announced that Travis Perkins, a supplier in the construction and home improvement market, will route all its phone calls onto their network under a one-year contract worth £1.9 million.

The carriers says, “Under a wholesale line rental agreement, Cable & Wireless will manage the calls across all 975 branches within the Travis Perkins group of companies to deliver more than £400,000 of savings. By using wholesale line rental, Travis Perkins will immediately benefit from lower phone charges with a single bill covering both line rental and calls, and a single point of accountability for all network maintenance, such as new lines, moves and changes and fault reporting.”

To help manage its telecommunications more efficiently, Travis Perkins will take advantage of a range of value added services. These include two web-based services - Cable & Wireless Call Management Network and Cable & Wireless Call Guard - which analyse call costs, monitor usage and alert the customer to any instances of unauthorised usage.

Frank Smith, IT director, Travis Perkins, said: "After a comprehensive review of the market, we selected Cable & Wireless because of its commercial flexibility and excellent capabilities in cost control and management reporting, all of which will greatly assist us in driving down our telecommunication costs."

Robin Morgan, managing director, Business Markets and Enterprise Development, Cable & Wireless, said: "Our telecommunications services provided a compelling proposition for Travis Perkins. Backed by our extensive UK network, the service includes billing transparency, enhanced services and a competitive tariff that will help the customer achieve significant call savings overall."
