Cambium Networks opens for business as an independent company

Leader in Fixed Wireless Broadband and Microwave Solutions Starts Life As Stand Alone Firm

Cambium Networks has announced its separation from parent company, Motorola Solutions, Inc., as it begins trading as an independent provider of wireless broadband products, services and solutions. The new standalone firm will continue to design, deploy and deliver innovative data, voice and video connectivity solutions across the world.

“The global demand for high-speed, high-quality voice, data and video communications continues at a pace,” says Graham Gilbert, UK Regional Sales Manager of Cambium Networks. “As an independent company, Cambium Networks becomes a more adaptable, focused and agile organisation dedicated to helping our customers and partners take full advantage of the continuing growth of wireless broadband.

“Although this is a new start for the company, Cambium Networks is hardly a newcomer to the broadband industry,” continues Gilbert. “We’re the providers of the most respected and widely deployed Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) solutions in the business. Even as we begin independent operations, we currently have installed networks in more than 150 countries. Supporting those deployments is a highly seasoned team of wireless, IP and RF propagation professionals whose combined experience runs into the thousands of years in the industry.”

The new company offers a comprehensive portfolio of fixed wireless high-speed backhaul and access solutions for a wide range of customers and industries. Cambium Networks is dedicated to providing technology and solutions designed to be a perfect fit for specific applications and markets, including Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs).

Cambium Networks’ award-winning PTP radio solutions operate in licensed, unlicensed and defined use frequency bands. Ruggedised for 99.999 percent availability, the company’s solutions are renowned for delivering reliable high-speed backhaul connectivity even in the most challenging non-line-of-sight RF environments. The solutions include Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and intelligent Dynamic Frequency Selection (iDFS) technologies to enhance signal reliability.

With more than three million modules installed around the world, Cambium Networks’ PMP solutions are known for making the delivery of high-speed access to multiple locations efficient and cost-effective. The company’s PMP networks operate in the licensed and unlicensed frequency bands. Using the Canopy synchronisation and interface, Cambium access network solutions are proving themselves day after day in residential access, leased line replacement, video surveillance, smart grid and other applications.

With its Wireless Manager suite of software tools, Cambium Networks is also a leading provider of network management and control solutions. With map-based visualisation using embedded Google maps, the Wireless Manager solution provides configuration, provisioning and alert information for network backhaul, distribution and access layers.

For customers who have purchased PTP, PMP and Wireless Manager Products through Motorola Solutions, those shipments and warranty coverage are being honoured by Cambium Networks.

Motorola Solutions has entered into a Global Supply Agreement with Cambium Networks where they will continue to provide their direct, public safety and Federal customers with Cambium Networks world-class access, backhaul and management solutions.
