Channel Telecom is EAD established

Channel Telecom, the provider of business telecommunication services to the UK channel, has attained Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) establishment with Openreach

As a result Channel Telecom can now provide its partners and customers with low cost, high performance point-to-point data connectivity between sites less than 25km apart (35km in some circumstances). This can be used to build and extend customer networks, develop new infrastructure, and meet low-capacity backhaul requirements with up to 1Gb bandwidth.

EAD provides permanently connected, point-to-point high speed data circuits that are Ethernet compliant. Customers can use these private circuits for applications such as ‘cloud’ computing and high speed data sharing between sites. Point-to-point EAD circuits are far more cost-effective than conventional dedicated private data circuits.

Channel Telecom offers a wide choice of leading voice and data network services for its channel partners to market to customers. This allows channel partners to offer their customers the optimum network solution for their needs.

For Channel Telecom, Clifford Norton, Managing Director commented, “The growth of MPLS networks and cloud computing means Ethernet is rapidly becoming the preferred network solution for data connectivity. Uncontended bandwidth with speeds up to 1Gb at a cost-effective price makes Ethernet highly attractive to business customers. Channel Telecom’s EAD establishment means our channel partners can now offer these benefits with direct point-to-point connectivity.”
