Chess acquires NGN specialists DBS Telecoms

Chess, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of business voice & data solutions, has announced its 14th acquisition of the year after snapping up specialist non-geographic number (NGN) provider Directory Business Services (DBS).

The acquisition, which will add £1 million to Chess’ annual turnover, includes a base of 2,800 customers as well as DBS’s in-house developed online ordering system and websites. DBS are internet marketing specialists and will continue to trade as a web services and online marketing company.

Richard Btesh, Director at Chess, commented “This acquisition gives us a great cross-selling opportunity to provide our new customers with a suite of products to help improve their business communications.”

Earlier this year Chess secured a £21 million acquisition fund with Barclays and as a result continues to grow as the market leading consolidator of small / mid-size telecoms businesses.

David Clarke, Director at DBS, stated “Chess have built a reputation as acquisition experts and that title is well deserved. I’ve been hugely impressed by the level of professionalism at every level and at each stage of the acquisition process and am confident our customers will receive an exceptional level of service with Chess.”
