Neil commented on his achievement, “It’s been fantastic to represent and raise money for such a worthy cause. Handing over a cheque worth over £1,300 to the Prince’s Trust made all the pain and sacrifice it took to complete the ride worth it! I would also like to thank everyone at Chess for all their support and generous donations, it definitely helped spur me on and made me dig deeper.”
Neil was part of a group of 14 North-West cyclists raising money for various charities ranging from Christie’s to the East Cheshire Hospice. The group managed to conquer the hilly terrain of Cornwall, Devon, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands on their way to the furthest point on mainland Britain, John o' Groats.
Chess have been an active charity sponsor of the Prince’s Trust for many years, and encourage their people to take part in events throughout the year. Chess people are also currently involved in the Prince’s Trust Going for Gold Challenge, where they aim to raise over £6000 for the charity, and the TEAM Program, where each year a member of Chess takes time off work to help mentor and coach disadvantaged young people over a 12 week course.
