Cisco Re-Vamp IP Comms Specialisations

Comms Business Magazine believes that Cisco has revised its IP Communications Specialisations and that there are now to be three variants for resellers:

IPC Foundation (IPCF), which will be akin to the existing IP Communications Express specialisation, which was required to sell CallManager Express.

IPC Expert (IPCE) This will be positioned between the old IPC Express specialisation of which there are believed to be currently 10 partners in the UK and the old straight forward IP Communications specialisation (41 in UK we think), which was required to sell CallManager.

IPC Master (IPCM), which will be a higher classification than the old IPC.

Speaking to Comms Business Magazine after returning from his Cisco partner event in San Diego, Clive Sawkins, MD IP Communications Division EMEA, confirmed the changes.

“The new specialisations simplify the process and enable resellers to focus on say Telecoms without having to undertake all the other advanced technology specialisations such as call centre. It’s a more cost effective solution for those companies.

This revamp of the IPC specialisations is thought to be part of a wider re-organisation of the partner categories. As well as IPC, there is also a Routing and Switching stream, Security stream and Wireless LAN stream. It is not know if the same Foundations, Expert and Master levels apply to these other streams.
