Comms Factory wins FCS Service Provider of the Year Award

The FCS 2007 fixed Service Provider of the year award was won by Comms Factory for their demonstration of excellent customer service. Colin Forward, Operations Director, received the award from Lord David Currie, Ofcom chairman, at the FCS AGM on 12 September.

On accepting the award Colin Forward commented “We’re thrilled that the FCS has recognised the levels of customer service we are able to achieve through our on-line brand www.yourcalls.net. In this day and age, many people prefer to manage their affairs on-line and Yourcalls.net lets customers do exactly that. Customers’ carrying out self-service on-line means lower overheads; that’s how we maintain exceptionally low prices with no contract – a double benefit for customers. We believe that the lowest prices can go hand-in-hand with great customer service, and we’re delighted that the FCS agrees.”

Sam Dawkins of Club Communications, chairman of the 2007 judging panel said, “The judges were pleased with the high quality of entries from fixed line service providers who all focus on providing excellent customer service in this competitive market. The winner stood out for taking customer servicing to another level to enable a low cost of service delivery to their customer. We were also pleased to make a runner up award to the Phone Co-op- for their ethical approach to business with a green solution and real customer ownership of their organisation. Congratulations to both businesses”

The Phone Co-op Chief Executive Vivian Woodell commented, "We are delighted to receive this recognition from within the telecoms industry, following, as it does, strong ratings in Which? and Ethical Consumer. Everyone at The Phone Co-op has worked together very hard to demonstrate that the co-operative way of doing business can deliver top-class service and performance to consumers and business users, as well as a commitment to ethical trading which reflects our members' values. As a customer-owned business, it is the users who benefit most from our success, and we hope that this endorsement will encourage many more people and organisations to join us."
