Computer 2000 Acquires Maverick

Computer 2000 has announced the acquisition of the goodwill and assets of Maverick Presentation Products and its associated businesses, Hotlamps, Screen Expert, and Vision. The acquisition was from Tenon Recovery, who acted as the Administrators of Maverick, for a price of approximately £500,000.

Nigel Fox of Tenon Recovery commented: “We received an extremely high level of interest in the Maverick business and a number of formal bids were submitted. However, we enjoyed a very constructive dialogue with Computer 2000 from the very beginning and were pleased to complete the sale of Maverick’s business and assets to them on 12 November 2007”.

Computer 2000’s specialist division will be renamed to Maverick Presentation Products and will also utilise the HotLamps, Screen expert and Vision brands.

The purchase significantly extends Computer 2000’s presence in the audiovisual market. A yet to be confirmed number of former Maverick staff will join the business. They follow former Maverick Managing Director, Jon Sidwick, who joined Computer 2000 recently. In his new role, Sidwick is responsible for overall business development and growth of the Maverick business. Head of Computer 2000’s AV business unit, Darren Sainsbury retains his position as Divisional Manager with day to day responsibility for sales and vendor liaison. Former Maverick Director, Mark Tildesley, has also joined as Divisional Manager, initially responsible for growth of the HotLamps business.
