Computer 2000 appoints specialist bid and pricing manager

Computer 2000 has appointed a dedicated Public Sector Bids and Pricing Manager as part of its continued investment in supporting reseller business development in the sector.

Carmel Keightley brings over 20 years of experience in account management and sales support roles, at major vendor and reseller businesses, to the Public Sector team. She has spent the past two years running her own specialist lead-generation business. In her new position she will manage and co-ordinate special bids and pricing for public sector deals, helping resellers who are already established, and those who are new to doing business in the public sector, to win more business.

Cathi Low, Director of Public Sector at Computer 2000, stated: “Due to specific focus and investments we are making, Computer 2000 has very quickly become established as the go-to distributor for public sector business. Special bids and special pricing are an important element of almost every significant deal in this market and by having a dedicated resource with real expertise, we’ll be able to give resellers even more help in developing their business with education, healthcare and local government.”

Computer 2000 launched its dedicated Public Sector initiative earlier this year and has been focussing on building a dedicated sales team and increasing the accessibility of Public Sector promotions and resources for its resellers.

The company has launched a new and expanded public sector microsite, with products and solutions categorised under Education, Government and Health.

Whilst Computer 2000 has had bid prices for HP online for some time, all Computer 2000 resellers can now save time and money by ordering over 1,200 products with dedicated discounted prices exclusive to the public sector, from vendors such as Netgear, Lenovo, Iomega, Sony and Toshiba.

Computer 2000 is working with vendor partners to offer more exclusive promotions to resellers and to provide them with information about specific public sector pricing and initiatives online. It is also continuing its programme of tendering workshops, which help resellers understand how to find and win public sector business. The next two workshops are taking place on 24 and 25 October and some places are still available.
