Computer 2000 Drives Major Investment Towards the Retail Market

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, is investing heavily to increase its presence in the retail market and making major commitments to develop special programmes and tools that provide focus and support or both major High Street chains and independent retailers.

Andy Dow, Group Marketing Director has taken the lead as the head of a high-powered team of retail experts, to mastermind the campaign. Former Head of Consumer at Samsung Print Division, Geoff Hart, has already taken up the role of Retail Account Director, while Jim Barnes, who joined Computer 2000 last year, has been appointed as Business Development Director.

The company is looking to add additional experienced members to the team, significantly uplifting sales support and delivering online tools, to provide retailers with all the resources they need to drive sales and position Computer 2000 as their first-choice distribution partner.

Commenting on the plans, Dow said: “Computer 2000 sees the retail market as a major growth opportunity, we are determined to do everything we can to ensure that retailers have access to the products, sales support and information that they need in order to maximise their opportunities. We already have the systems and logistics capabilities to meet their needs.”

As well as leading the retail team, Dow will continue to have overall responsibility for marketing across the group, with newly appointed Marketing Manager, Sally Murdoch taking the reins for the day-to-day running of Computer 2000’s marketing activities.
