Computer 2000 to hold first cloud discovery day

Computer 2000 is to hold its first Cloud Discovery Day, giving resellers the opportunity to learn all about its TD Cloud programme and hear HP, Microsoft and Symantec outline their cloud strategies and how they plan to work with Computer 2000 to take their solutions to market and drive growth for reseller partners.

Around 90 resellers are expected to attend the seminar and workshop at Mercedes-Benz World on Wednesday 18April. This will be the first of four such events that Computer 2000 will host this year, through which it plans to recruit a number of resellers for its TD Cloud programme. These businesses will benefit from close engagement and support from both Computer 2000 and its vendor partners, as they develop their knowledge and enable their businesses to take cloud propositions to market.

Reza Honarmand, Director of Software and Services for Tech Data Europe, stated: “The cloud promises to change the landscape of the market and it’s not something anyone in the channel can afford to ignore. TD Cloudwill deliver the education, enablement and business development resources that resellers need to take their place in the evolving cloudscape. We will support partners who engage with us on TD Cloud at every stage, from the initial formulation of a strategy, though to the construction and delivery of value propositions and solutions for their customers."

“The Discovery Days will provide the perfect opportunity for resellers to find out everything they need to know about the TD Cloudprogramme, how we plan to work with our leading vendor partners to bring these solutions to market, and drive growth around the cloud for the whole channel. We have some exciting plans, which we are eager to share with potential partners.”

The agenda for the first Cloud Discovery Day includes presentations from Martin Riley, Server and Networking Marketing Programme Manager at HP, on how resellers can identify where they should position themselves in the cloud market and the opportunities for growth with IaaS and PaaS; from Peter King, Director of Hosting & SMB Cloud Services at Microsoft UK, on the delivery of applications in the cloud; and from Dan Nadir, Senior Director, Product Management, Cloud and SMB at Symantec, on security threats in the cloud and how to secure the data.

Specific vendor stream sessions in the afternoon will enable the partners to understand the cloud programmes, solutions and roadmaps of Microsoft, HP, Symantec, Cisco and Brocade, and explain how they expect to work with Computer 2000 to deliver positive results with TD Cloud. At the end of the day there will be an open forum discussion featuring these vendors

The second of Computer 2000’s Cloud Discovery Days is scheduled to take place at Sterling Conference Centre in Scotland on 19th June. Further events will follow in Manchester and Birmingham later in the year, with dates and venues to be announced.
