Computerlinks fills market gap for SMBs with Ruckus Wireless

Computerlinks, the distributor of IT security and Internet technology solutions, today announced it has signed an agreement to distribute Ruckus Wireless’ ‘ZoneFlex’ product range in the UK and Ireland.

Ruckus Wireless, named a 2007 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, boasts the first WLAN system to combine the best in centralised WLAN principles with state-of-the-art Wi-Fi advances such as smart antenna arrays and wireless meshing. The solution offers SMBs a simple yet robust WLAN environment that can be easily deployed with minimal IT impact.

The addition of the Ruckus ZoneFlex solution to Computerlinks’ e-Business portfolio will fill the market gap between feature-poor consumer Wi-Fi access points and high-end enterprise WLAN systems. This also complements Computerlinks’ existing wireless infrastructure such as Siemens HiPath products that satisfy enterprise WLAN end user demands.

“The Ruckus approach to wireless is to make it as easy for the channel to sell as possible. That starts with leading edge and proven technology, an easy to understand product portfolio and price list as well as a good margin for the channel,” said David Caughtry, e-Business director at Computerlinks. “Ruckus addresses a great channel opportunity in the SMB market, offering the perfect solution for a company that wants more than just a simple, router based Wi-Fi access point, which are often restrictive in their coverage and functionality.“

“This has been borne out by the interest we’ve seen at recent major Industry events - over a third of the people who visited our stand at Channel Expo, for example, wanted to find out more about Ruckus Wireless.” Caughtry added.

“Computerlinks has an excellent reputation in the industry and its extensive network of channel partners will enable us to bring reliable and affordable Wi-Fi networks to SMBs. These organisations have traditionally been overlooked,” said James Calderbank, director of enterprise sales, EMEA at Ruckus Wireless. “We’re delighted to be in a position to capitalise on Computerlinks’ existing relationships and to help them meet future customer demands.”
