Comstor Appoint New Product Managers

Comstor , the dedicated Cisco distribution business unit of networking distributor Westcon Group, has announced two new appointments in support of recently announced initiatives in the areas of Cisco Telepresence and datacenter technologies.

Comstor has appointed a dedicated Product Manager for Cisco Telepresence- Jonathan Phillips. Phillips has ten years experience in video conferencing having worked at Direct Visual, PictureTel and City IS.

Phillips comments; “With video deployment set to explode over the next three years we see huge potential. My role at Comstor is initially to help Tandberg Partners migrate to Cisco following the acquisition, understand how to engage with and be profitable selling the wider Cisco product set. I am also helping established Cisco partners who are becoming accredited, by translating their customers requirements into a workable video solution, helping them appreciate that video is a valuable business application, not just another shiny new toy!”

Comstor has also appointed Richard Rees-Jones as Product Manager for Cisco UCS Datacenters. Rees-Jones has an extensive background in large infrastructure projects, most recently with Gloucestershire Police.

Rees-Jones outlines his role: “My considerable experience in Enterprise businesses as a Network Engineer and Project Manager allows me to bring an informed view of real opportunities; engaging with our Sales Force, our Technical Team and our Partners - new and old - to ensure that datacenter opportunities are maximised and realized for everyone’s benefit.”

Commenting on the appointments, Comstor UK Managing Director Tony Nevill added; ‘Jonathan and Richard both bring a huge amount of experience in their respective areas and demonstrate our intent to bring strong business focus to the development of our partners in these important and high-growth technologies.”
