Convergence Summit proves a hit at Sandown Park

Networks & Network Services
Last week nearly 1700 representatives from the Voice, Data and Mobile Channels descended on Sandown Park in Esher for the 7th Convergence Summit Expo and Conference. The event which is by far the largest trade event of its kind in the UK had over 70 stands with nearly 100 companies represented.

Miles Bossom, Managing Director of event organiser, Miles Publishing commented; “Once again The Summit delivered an excellent event for both visitors and exhibitors. Our economy is facing uncertain times but the buzz around the show was felt by all. According to financial experts we are now in recession but you wouldn’t have known it based upon the amount of business that was taking place at the show”.

Rob Boylett, CEO, UK Telco said of the event “It was an outstanding event whith quality attendees allowing us to launch very successfully two new products as well as our core business. We were also able to meet some new suppliers ourselves and it gave us a great platform for the end of 2008. Already we have new dealers signed with us and have booked for north and south Summit events next year.

This view was shared by Jim Robertson, Commercial Director, MTV Telecom who said “Another excellent Summit event. MTV Telecom exhibited Shoretel for the first time and the Avaya IP Office and the quality of the people visiting was excellent. Shows have to show a return on investment and I believe the Convergent Summit South will do just that.

Anne Rogers, Sales and Marketing Manager for ipcortex commented “Every year, the Convergence Summit South surpasses my expectations. It delivers great quality leads, wonderful visibility and unparalleled networking opportunities. The Comms Business team provide excellent support both before and during the event, and their enthusiastic and genuine approach is so refreshing”.

Justin Blaine, Managing Director, NeoWave Distribution (UK) Ltd told us;”I personally found the quality and quantity of visitors to the show excellent. I would like to thank Miles Publishing for the organisation of a great event and we at NeoWave look forward to working with you again next year.”

An enthusiastic Clifford Norton, Managing Director Frontier Voice and Data said of the event;

“We signed up a number of new dealers on site with many more prospects in the pipeline and there were orders on my desk when I returned on Thursday morning. The Summit is without doubt the best event for Channel companies wanting to meet dealers and resellers and is certainly an event we will not miss next year”.
