Daisy appoints new finance director

Fast-growing Daisy Communications has appointed Anthony Riley as chief financial officer.

His appointment is viewed as evidence of the company’s resolve at beating the recession and emphasises CEO Matthew Riley’s intention for his fast-growing telecoms firm to assert itself as the natural alternative to BT in the business communications market and expand its product offering to become a complete business solution centre for UK SMEs.

Wigan-based Anthony joins the Lancashire-based company with a strong track record, having spent six years as Financial Director at Homeserve Claims Management, based in Fulwood, Lancashire, and seven and a half years at JJB Sports as Associate Financial Director.

Matthew Riley said the appointment indicated his desire to implement a management team with the necessary skills to enhance the company’s ambition and enable it to follow its historical path of growth, enterprise and innovation as well as harbour new opportunities in the business marketplace.

He said: “We are pleased to welcome Anthony to strengthen and lead Daisy’s finance team. The company has a rich heritage of growth and financial stability and for that reason the business is currently being presented with a number of opportunities. Anthony has the experience to steer Daisy towards these opportunities, and is well placed to ensure that our strong acquisitive history and continued organic growth is maintained.

“This year we want to make further strides to consolidating the fragmented market in which we operate, as well as developing new product lines that will enable us to champion the small-medium business market, bringing in new products and services, and extra new customers into our base.”

Anthony Riley said: “The ambition of Daisy is plain to see and the company is well positioned to take advantage of the vast market opportunity that is currently presenting itself.

“I am looking forward to leveraging my experience and knowledge to help strengthen Daisy’s financial and market position, and working in what is arguably one of the UK’s most exciting and dynamic technology companies.”
