Daisy Communications hold annual charity golf day.

Some well-known personalities from the channel converged in the North West to enjoy 27 holes of golf, some fine Mediterranean-style sunshine and help daisy raise £3,000.

Business partners, resellers and associates of daisy swapped the office for the fairway and descended on Clitheroe Golf Club for a full day of activities, pitting their golfing wits against one another.

More than 40 keen golfers took part in a 27-hole event to help raise money for daisy’s nominated charities. As well as overall team performance, competition was rife for longest drive, nearest to the pin, beat the pro and best individual performance. There was also the awarding of the obligatory wooden spoon for the day’s worst performer.

Mark Hickey, daisy’s director of sales, said: “We received fantastic support from the day’s sponsors and they helped us achieve a great total for our two charities. Not only that, we also had a fantastic day out on the course, made all the more enjoyable by the fine weather.

“Half of the monies raised will go to Barrowford Celtic, an organisation that works closely with young people in our area, and the other half will contribute towards the company’s target of raising £20,000 for the Prince’s Trust.”

He also expressed special thanks to the day’s sponsors; the Bank of Scotland, Ernst & Young, PWC, Cable & Wireless, BT Wholesale, BT Openreach, Eversheds, Griffin and Coutts.

Industry winners on the day included Vince Potter of DV02, Paul Mosley of Maintel, while daisy’s head of retail sales Chris Burney, walked away with the booby prize.
