Daisy introduces duo to strengthen data hosting

Daisy Group has introduced two new roles within its specialist team.

The two positions, Product Manager for Hosting and Cloud and Project Manager, have been filled by new recruits Neil Barnett and Manjit Boparai.

Leaving behind his role as Head of IT at a B2B publisher, Neil brings over 15 years’ experience of IT systems into his new position of Product Manager for Hosting and Cloud.

With a career that started in the construction of Sales Order Processing and Purchase Order Processing systems, he quickly progressed into the role of Group IT Manager before joining a UK start-up where his key areas of focus were product and commercial direction, sales channel management and technical leadership.

The new position of Project Manager has been filled by fresh recruit Manjit Boparai, who joins the business to assist with the delivery of Daisy’s data centre assignments.

As Daisy has its own network of UK-based data centres, Manjit’s five years’ of project management experience will play a key role in managing the migration of equipment and business-critical information into Daisy’s secure tier III facilities.

From her early IT background dealing with hands-on Unix-based systems administration, high performance computing and batch scheduling systems, she developed into team management and service delivery roles.

Manjit has successfully steered teams working on large data centre transformations and consolidation projects, and has received recognition for managing projects which have required extensive client-facing work.

Andrew Goldwater, MD of Daisy Retail, comments: “As more and more businesses look towards hosting and cloud solutions, we must ensure that we have the knowledge in place to grow both our resources and our offering in this area.

“Manjit and Neil will provide us with the specialist knowledge that we need in this very complex arena of data centre hosting solutions. We are very excited to have people with their expertise joining our team.”
