Daisy Raise £8k for Charity

Lancashire was the place to be as Daisy Group held its annual charity golf day for the channel.

Some well-known personalities from the channel converged in the North West to enjoy 18 holes of golf, win some outstanding prizes and help Daisy raise more than £8,000 for charity.

Business partners, resellers and associates of Daisy swapped the office for the fairway and descended on Clitheroe Golf Club for a full day of activities, pitting their golfing wits against one another.

More than 40 keen golfers took part in an 18-hole event to help raise money for the Group’s nominated charities The Prince’s Trust and Barrowford Celtic.

As well as overall team performance, competition was rife for longest drive, nearest to the pin, beat the pro and best individual performance. There was also the awarding of the obligatory wooden spoon for the day’s worst performer.

And with a BMW, courtesy of Bowker BMW Preston, the prize for a hole-in-one on the 14th hole, competition was rife.

Chris Burney, Daisy’s head of indirect sales, said: “We received fantastic support from the day’s sponsors and they helped us achieve a great total for our two charities. Not only that, we also had a fantastic day out on the course.

“Unfortunately no golfer was accurate enough to drive away in the BMW for our hole-in-one competition but then again there’s always next year!”

He also expressed special thanks to the day’s sponsors; O2, Openreach, KCom. Cable and Wireless, Bowker BMW, Nimans and Mitel, whose contribution towards the day made the event a success.
