Datasharp Get Security Recognition

National telecoms reseller, Datasharp, beat 2,500 resellers to be shortlisted by ICT security and control firm Sophos, for two of their awards. The top resellers were invited to attend the Sophos annual conference, held on 24th May at their headquarters , followed by a lavish awards ceremony at the Oxford Belfry hotel.

Datasharp were nominated for “SME Business Partner of the Year” and “New Business Growth Partner of the Year” as a result of their impressive sales record and for being the first company globally to supply the Sophos WS1000 – an internet security appliance protecting against all web-based threats. They were up against IT giants such as MISCO and PC World Business proving that traditionally telecoms focussed companies are continuing to successfully develop and implement ICT portfolios.

“We were delighted to be nominated alongside major players in the ICT industry and although we didn’t come home with an award we got a huge cheer! The nominations show Datasharp’s commitment to convergence and how we are moving forward with the industry by working closely with ICT software companies such as Sophos. It’s all about being able to offer our customers a complete solution for their communication infrastructure. All companies who are members of Datasharp immediately benefit from our knowledge, accreditations and associations with both telecoms and ICT companies. We have built up a team of highly skilled people within Datasharp who are to be congratulated on this massive achievement!” explained Paul Solomon, ICT Manager, Datasharp UK Limited.

"Datasharp's nominations are reflective of their impressive new business growth in the small business space this year," said Annie Gay, Vice President, EMEA at Sophos. "Their technical expertise and commitment both to their customers and to Sophos is first rate, demonstrating innovation in their early adoption of our web appliance and continued dedication to our complete security and control portfolio. We look forward to tracking their successes over the coming 12 months."
