Destiny signs Qualitel in major push to expand its UK reseller base

Destiny Wireless, the UK provider of mobile data communications for the business market, has signed Qualitel, one of the leading B2B mobile specialists in the central/north west region, as a reseller of the Destiny digital pen and paper solution based on Anoto functionality.

The deal sees Qualitel reselling Destiny’s portfolio of digital pen and paper and mobile enterprise solutions in the UK. The Destiny solution combines a digital pen with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. Users fill out forms with a pen with a tiny infra-red camera in the nib that can take a hundred pictures per second of pen strokes. Users write on special paper that is pre-digitised with a unique dot-matrix pattern and an ability to recognise the person’s handwriting. The user then simply ticks a ‘send’ box and the information is transferred via a mobile phone to Destiny’s secure servers, a replica image is created and then converted into a data file and transferred to the users’ back office systems.

The processing times of forms filled out using Destiny technology is reduced significantly from weeks to minutes since Destiny eliminates all of the handling, posting and faxing of forms which can lead to delays. The Destiny portfolio also includes a number of modules which provide additional added value for customers that include GPS tracking of users and vehicles and job allocation.

Mike Ridgway, Managing Director of Qualitel said: “We are delighted to be adding Destiny digital pen technology to our range of products and services. With Destiny’s pen and paper technology workforces can be inexpensively equipped with a solution that is easy to use, needs no re-training, improves data transfer immediately, speeds up sales invoicing and can therefore have an instant effect on a company’s cash flow. The ability of the Destiny digital pen to capture, handle and transmit data seamlessly and easily via a mobile phone gives us excellent opportunities to cross sell Bluetooth devices and other services into our existing customer base. This solution allows us to add value to our customers on a number of levels.”

He continued, “Our own workforce is using the Destiny pen and paper technology to fill out O2 contracts.”

Edward Belgeonne, Founder & CEO, Destiny Wireless plc said: “Our partnership with Qualitel is another step forward for digital pen technology in the UK. Our solution offers more than just improved and faster form filling. Data capture is at the heart of our technology and has many uses for the astute business. Companies can use our technology to manage their workforces, view and track their mobile people and assets, direct them to their next job without returning to base and speed up their business processes. Our technology offers resellers like Qualitel the opportunity to provide a large range of digital solutions to improve the efficiency of almost any business. We welcome Qualitel as a valuable partner as we expand Destiny’s business into new market sectors.”
