Digitalk Unveils IP Virtual Office

Digitalk, an independent developer of multi-service voice switching platforms, has announced the launch of IP Virtual Office (IPVO), a new business communications system designed for Service Providers who want to offer small-medium enterprises (SMEs) a simple, cost-effective and professional business communications service.

IPVO is available on Digitalk’s Media Application Server for deployment as a standalone service platform or within operators’ Next Generation Networks, and provides a carrier-class solution to offer hosted communications services to their enterprise customers, either directly or as a “white label” product via their channel partners. The solution is a fully “out of the box” application that includes the calling features and network and services management software, plus full billing, rating and web self-care functionality. It will allow enterprise customers to replace their expensive PBX systems and to make considerable cost savings, both in equipment purchase and maintenance arrangements.

In addition, the integrated web self-care facility means that it is quick and easy for the administrator to add or remove users, or for users to be moved into new user groups. It also allows users to manage their own accounts, reducing operational overheads further.

The solution has been developed to meet the specific demands of enterprise customers that need to accommodate an increasingly disparate and remote workforce, and who want to take advantage of advanced call management features such as unified messaging.

In addition, IPVO is able to significantly reduce costs by providing flexible call routing options that lower voice costs between locations and free “on-net” calling between users regardless of location.

“IPVO has the ability to become a key differentiator for Service Providers that serve the enterprise,” said Mark Ashdown, Sales and Marketing Director, Digitalk. “The flexibility in the system means that Service Providers can offer highly-tailored packages that are able to match the unique needs of their enterprise customers.”

Users are able to use IPVO using a SIP-compatible device or soft-phone from any location (office, home office, airport, hotel) to begin taking advantage of its calling features, including free calls to other colleagues registered on the system wherever they are.
