Driving LTE Revenues will be Major Focus for Operators at LTE Strategies Event

MSPs
LTE Strategies is set to explore LTE business models and network migration strategies from a range of industry leaders in the industry, including representatives from Hutchinson 3G, Telefónica O2 UK, Telecom Italia, Vodafone Germany, Eircom and BT.

The three-day event being held between 5 – 7 November at the Kensington Close Hotel, London, will address the most important issues facing LTE including migrating to LTE-Advanced, developing LTE networks despite the lack of available spectrum, green LTE networking and seamless LTE roaming.

The conference will feature special case studies from numerous global telecom operators including Saudi Telecom Company, Telekom Slovenia and Telecom Italia.

Samantha Aspinall, Senior Conference Director of Telecoms IQ, the company organising the event commented: “With LTE now recorded as the fastest growing mobile technology of all time, there has been a shift in focus for the operators as they now look to ensure returns on the network investment required for deployment. Now is the time to seize the opportunity offered by LTE to build new business models and develop high performing and profitable mobile networks.”

LTE Strategies will offer an open forum for debate and discussion alongside interactive sessions to get to the heart of the LTE challenges and find out how operators plan to successfully deploy profitable LTE networks and achieve a seamless migration to LTE-Advanced.

David Wisely, Head of Mobility Research at British Telecom, said the industry is facing a number of challenges relating to LTE implementation.

“With services limited to large data packages and high auction prices for spectrum what is the most appropriate business case? Operators must create new services over VoIP and data transport, launch rich VoIP solutions and integrate with fixed broadband to exploit LTE and drive revenue,” said Mr Wisely.

BT will be presenting a case study on TV White Space and how unlicensed spectrum can be leveraged to offer LTE mobile and backhaul services.

“Centre-stage at LTE Strategies will be the challenges and opportunities operators face. We want to address the current issues and develop understanding in an up and coming market. Our speakers are carefully selected industry members,” added Aspinall.
