Easynet launched their new service to its Channel Partners yesterday at the National Theatre in London. The Hybrid Cloud Solution takes the functionality and features available in a typical enterprise solution and delivers them to the SMB in an Opex model. Working alongside HP and Zynstra, Easynet believe that the future evolution of ‘cloud’ will revolve around a hybrid type model where businesses will choose the services and applications they receive from an on-premise solution and those that will be delivered through the cloud.
The opportunity for resellers seemed compelling and there was a buzz in the room when the financials were discussed, unfortunately I cannot talk about them in detail yet. When Adrian Thirkill, Easynet UK MD asked the audience what they thought of the pricing one member simply called out “easy!”
As the perception of moving to the cloud changes and adoption rates increase offering these types of services is going to be critical to build up a reoccurring revenue model in the future.
Having partnered with London based BTA, the Hybrid Cloud offering has been tried and tested since the end of last year. Resellers who take up this offer will have the peace of mind it has already been sold and deployed in the field.
Easynet will only allow 30 reseller partners to initially get involved with selling this solution to the SMB market for two major reasons. To ensure each reseller has adequate support the numbers have been kept low and Thirkill commented also “We are only offering it to thirty resellers because if everyone had access to it then it wouldn’t be a differentiator.”
Tim McNally, Chief Executive of Thames Information Systems said “We have been offering our clients an integrated solution for several years now, I need to go away an work out the financials before committing.”
Comms Business looks forward to keeping a close eye on this proposition over the coming months to see how the Channel reacts and the SMB community receives it.
