Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) from Eaton’s Power Quality division have been selected by Sentrum, a leading specialist in data centre solutions, as the secure power source for critical applications in its principal UK data centres.

A total of 137 Eaton UPS systems are currently installed within Sentrum’s portfolio of data centres and some idea of the scale of these installations can be gained by noting that, between them, they use 25,000 batteries with a total weight in excess of 830 tonnes.

The Eaton UPS systems were selected by Sentrum after its engineers completed an in-depth evaluation of the options available in the market, whilst looking specifically for a solution that ensured high performance levels, a compact construction, versatility and value for money.

“Sentrum is constantly striving to maximise energy efficiencies within its operations, whilst also ensuring delivery of an outstandingly reliable service,” said Franek Sodzawiczny, Chief Development Officer and Co-Founder at Sentrum. “The high efficiencies, and proven reliability, of the UPS system from Eaton caught our attention in particular.”

“We also get first class support from Eaton,” Sodzawiczny continued. “The company’s engineers clearly have a very good understanding of the specific requirements and challenges related to data centre operations.”
