Eve Fits The Bill for Fone Logistics Strategic Role

MOBILE airtime and handset distributor Fone Logistics is moving forward with its aggressive growth plan to increase its turnover beyond the £100m mark in the next 12 months by the appointment of a new marketing manager

Eve Lenez, 26 from Newcastle upon Tyne brings a wealth of marketing and sales experience gained in the leisure and banking industry. Her main function will be in supporting Julien Parven who is now taking a more strategic position as the sales and marketing director.

Bolstering the marketing department is part of Fone Logistics’ current two-year business plan to grow its market share across the UK. It has announced a new range of incentive schemes to its channel partners which include a ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous’ rewards programme, a ‘Select’ points collection rewards scheme, and a ‘Switch On’ incentive aimed at encouraging a high level of converged connections with 02.

The company recently agreed terms to amalgamate the airtime division of Dextra Solutions, the UK’s largest independent reseller of mobile accessories and airtime into its business. This reflects the company’s two year goal to be the preferred mobile phone distributor in the UK and it is the first major industry move in market consolidation.

Eve’s new role will see her being responsible for establishing a strong and consistent marketing strategy by implementing acquisition and retention programmes along with proving dealers with better support, as well as reaching out to new markets.

Eve said: “My role at Fone Logistics is an investment to take up the challenges that the business now faces in an increasingly competitive and converged marketplace, so we are embracing industry changes head on with a multi-faceted marketing campaign to our existing channels and those emerging customers.

“We have launched a range of new incentive schemes to our dealers as part of our growth plan to provide the very best support service as the market shifts towards a value-led proposition.

“We are also increasing our range of products and services to compete in the burgeoning converged marketplace of data and voice products, so will have campaigns mapped out to target the IT reseller marketplace also.”

Sales and marketing director Julien Parven said: “The recruitment of Eve to deliver our strong marketing drive is a demonstration of our strong position right now, and our plans to push on and complete our two year aim to be the preferred mobile phone distributor in the UK.”

Fone Logistics has a turnover of £80m and employs 110 staff, at its head office in Cramlington Northumberland.
