Excalibur Wins South West Business Award

Swindon’s Excalibur Communications has won Business in the Community’s South West Responsible Business Award.

Recognised for creating long-term value whilst integrating sustainability issues most critical to their business, Excalibur was presented with its award during a ceremony at St George’s in Bristol.

Business in the Community is the Prince’s Responsible Business Network that works to build a fairer society and a more sustainable future, recognising companies that help create vibrant communities where people can flourish.

Excalibur’s CEO James Phipps said: “It is an honour to receive this Responsible Business Award because it shows what a positive impact businesses can make when they manage growth responsibly and also operate responsibly as an employer, supplier and customer”.

He added: “At Excalibur we support a large number of causes in Wiltshire and beyond, as well as helping organisations hold events at our Cloud space in Arclite House. We enjoy bringing people together, so it is heartening to be recognised by Business in the Community as a good neighbour that is actively involved in building a fairer society and a more sustainable future here in the South West.”

Among the many community projects supported by Excalibur is its bi-monthly hosting of the Swindon Soup event, where people can create or develop something that they feel would benefit local people. This is very much in keeping with the Excalibur ethos of building relationships in the South West, including, for example, its recent support for Bath’s Royal United Hospital with its Cancer Care Campaign as well as helping the Against Breast Cancer charity.

Raksha Pattni, Area Director West, Business in the Community (for whom HRH Prince Charles is President), said: “We firmly believe that responsible business is not just a better way to do business but it is the only way to do business”.

The Business in the Community’s South West Responsible Business Award for Excalibur follows the company’s recent gaining of the coveted Mobile Industry Award for Best Unified Comms Dealer. Excalibur was judged to be the best across the whole of the UK for the way in which it integrates communications for its customers, along with exceptionally high levels of employee engagement.
