North East voice and data reseller, Executel, is spreading its wings and launching a new mobile communications division which in turn will create jobs for the region.
Executel is already an established service provider as well as a fully Microsoft-accredited supplier of unified communications solutions and with these specialisms firmly under its belt, the Gateshead-based company is now embarking on the next chapter in its development, mobile communications.
With this in mind, Executel has launched a major recruitment drive to appoint a team of experienced sales executives who will help actively generate new business for the rapidly-expanding firm and drive forward the new mobile division. In addition, Executel is looking to recruit a number of up and coming sales trainees who can work their way up through the business.
Of Executel’s move into the mobile communications market, director, Peter Watson, said: “The evolution of Executel as a service provider has been and continues to be both structured and carefully planned. Back in 1997, we started out as a pure telecoms company specialising in the provision of wholesale line rentals and LCR. From there, we watched the direction of the market change and adapted accordingly, adopting IP telephony which soon became our forte and which continues to be our overriding strength to this day.
“Perhaps the most exciting thing about our move into the mobile market is the fact that we will be doing it organically under our own steam. We strongly considered making the move via the acquisition of an established mobile reseller but instead have successfully acquired our own licence which is an incredible privilege for us. We will also be able to bill customers direct via our own billing platform which puts us in a unique position. This is not the norm but due to the potential O2 can see in Executel coupled with our Unified Communications Voice Specialist accreditation, they fortunately see us as a sound choice of partner.
“Our next step is to recruit a team of quality sales people who will pick up the new mobile solutions product set and run with it. At the same time, we are looking to appoint a number of less experienced sales trainees who will attend our in-house Sales Academy and assist our existing team in analysing the marketplace and identifying new business opportunities.”
Established in 1997, Executel is currently the North East’s leading supplier of cutting-edge voice and data solutions. The firm employs a 42-strong workforce at its Tyneside base and boasts turnover of £9 million.
