Executel Scores With Roseberry Contract

North East communications firm, Executel, has scored highly with a telephony contract for Roseberry Sports & Community College in Chester-le-Street.

In a bid to streamline communications and better serve staff, students and the local community, the College – which was awarded Specialist Sports College Status in September 2003 – called upon the Gateshead-based firm to install a state-of-the-art telephony platform, serving some 60 extensions.

Representing an investment nearing £20,000, Executel’s solution provides the very latest IP (Internet Protocol) technology and includes a cutting-edge Mitel Your Assistant desktop interface which both places and answers telephone calls on behalf of users and provides secure instant messaging, presence and availability and audio/video conferencing capabilities.

Of the new technology, Ann Bowen, Headteacher of Roseberry Sports & Community College, explains: “This telephony installation is yet another innovative and progressive development in our aim to overhaul and update the infrastructure here at Roseberry. Executel’s technology forms just a small part of our overall objective to move the College forward in all areas.”

As well as leading-edge technology, Executel is also providing the College with a tailored Low Cost Routing (LCR) and wholesale line rental package, thus saving the organisation significantly on standard BT business rates.

Account manager for the firm, John Robson, added: “We work closely with our clients to ensure the provision of tailored communication solutions which meet their every requirement and in this case, have provided the College with a flexible and scaleable system which can be adapted and extended to suit future needs.

“Over the years, we have established an extensive portfolio of college and education-related clients and Roseberry Sports & Community College has enabled us to build on this success and further our expertise in this arena. I look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with the organisation.”

Founded in 1971, Roseberry Sports & Community College caters for students of all abilities from 11-18 years old and has in excess of 720 students.
