F1 Fever Grips Atia Communications

Atia Communications have been engaged by IP Telephony manufacturer 3CX, to install their IP Telephony Solution at the UK head quarters of F1 Racing Team, Lotus Racing. Lotus Racing is one of the newest entrants into the 2010 F1 World Championship and launched their campaign at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain.

In February 2010 Atia Communications installed the 3CX IP Communications Platform at the headquarters of Lotus Racing in Norwich. A total of 150 staff went live at the Norwich location and this number is likely to increase to 300 users encompassing remote services at all 19 race venues.

Atia Communications are truly excited about the forthcoming 2010 Formula One season and feel privileged to be working with a team so rich in motorsport heritage. Anticipating a great Formula One season, Patrick Copping, Commercial Director at Atia said ‘it’s F1 fever across all our sites and many within our team are massive fans of the sport. The customer requirements are relatively complicated and the unique situation does pose several interesting challenges.

The operations will be 24/7 and will cross several time zones as the championship unfolds. However, Atia Communications are well used to dealing with complex customer scenarios and our team have built a bespoke system which is able to cope with all the demanding telecommunications requirements of a customer such as Lotus Racing’.

Stephen Corrigan, UK Managing Director at 3CX commented. ‘Atia Communications were chosen to deploy the 3CX system at Lotus Racing largely down to their extensive knowledge of the 3CX product and their proven track record in the delivery of multi site IP Telephony installations. The project was rolled out in a matter of weeks, with Atia managing the entire deployment. The Lotus Racing team are delighted with the outcome and are expecting to see significant growth in the system.’
