FlexPod forum by Logicalis to launch

Online Community and Inaugural Event to Provide Peer Platform for FlexPod Best Practice

International solutions provider, Logicalis UK, announced it is launching FlexPodTM Forum by Logicalis, a community where like-minded peers can share content, expertise and best practice on the development and deployment of compute, storage and network virtual data centre architectures.

FlexPodTM Forum by Logicalis will officially launch at an inaugural event to be held at Cisco House, Olympic Park, London, on 15th June. Featured keynote speaker at the event is Gartner’s Andrew Butler, VP & Distinguished Analyst. Plenary sessions and interactive discussions will be hosted by Logicalis and industry leading vendor partners.

The community will bring together server, storage, network, security, operating system, and data centre specialists from UK organisations to debate the benefits and challenges in the consideration of, and migration to, FlexPod virtual and private cloud data centre architectures. The forum will exist through regular events as well as an online community.

Phil Richards, director of IT at Loughborough University, and first in the UK to adopt a hybrid FlexPod™ architecture, comments, “Sharing experiences and challenges with like-minded, independent peers can prove a real benefit to the decision making process when it comes to technology evaluation. The creation of a forum, where peer debate, research materials and technical experts are available online and offline, could prove an invaluable asset for those considering their migration to a virtual and cloud-based architecture.”

Tom Kelly, managing director of Logicalis UK, explains: “ICT operational excellence and efficiency, to create an aerodynamic infrastructure, is a top priority for every CIO and IT Director. FlexPod™ isn’t simply a blade versus blade or storage versus storage decision, but a powerful approach to creating a compelling and agile foundation for business. FlexPodTM Forum by Logicalis is designed to attract those organisations considering virtual and cloud architectures with the aim of achieving competitive advantage through the deployment of intelligent and streamlined as-a-service environments.”
