Fone Logistics offers business logistics facility

Mobile phone distributor Fone Logistics is helping dealers through the credit crunch by managing transaction outgoings on their behalf.

As an extension to Fone Logistics’ fulfilment model, it is now helping B2B dealers eliminate overheads by offering a facility to perform the pre-dispatch QA, credit checking and then the pick, pack and dispatch of handsets to the end user.

As part of its fulfilment process, dealers can now outsource the transaction of sole trader and small business connections once they have been secured to Fone Logistics.

Available primarily on the 3 and Orange networks, Fone Logistics has trialled the new model with three dealers for the past 10 weeks and is now ready to go live.

Sales and marketing director Julien Parven, said: “Basically we are helping dealers eliminate some of their overheads by doing the back office function of their transactions. Once they have secured a business connection and put this through the online DAP, we will do the final credit checks, let the dealer know the outcome, physically get the product ready for dispatch and then ship it to the end customer ourselves.

“This gives dealers increased productivity so they can spend more time securing deals rather than getting bogged down with processing handsets,” Parven continued. “The benefits that this gives dealers are that it involves little or no admin for them, they can redeploy staff to other more essential tasks, it is cheaper and faster than them doing it themselves and is a good way of encouraging distant sales.”

The new service allows existing consumer dealers to be ideally positioned to build a B2B model in their business and enables currently active B2B dealers to increase their productivity and achieve greater efficiencies.
