Freedom Awarded Specialist Reseller Status by BT

Freedom, the voice and data integrator, has become a chief supplier of BT fixed line minutes for UK businesses. Under the new agreement, Freedom has become one of two specialist resellers in a newly defined partner category.

Freedom will supply calls and lines, Session Internet Protocol (SIP) trunks, video conferencing and a range of BT network services.

Previously a supplier of Thus and Cable and Wireless fixed line minutes, Freedom returned to BT given the value delivered by its extensive portfolio of reseller products and services, the potential of BT’s 21st Century Network (21CN) and the support of the BT brand.

BT and Freedom will be officially announcing this new partnership at a Freedom seminar entitled ‘Network Transformation’, on Wednesday 2nd July at the iconic BT Tower in central London. A hundred key Freedom partners, suppliers and customers are invited to the event. BT will also provide an update on the latest 21CN developments at this event.

Chris Luff, sales director of Freedom Communications, commented: “We look forward to offering businesses quality fixed line calls and a number of BT’s network products. The BT agreement marks a significant commercial change for Freedom and the start of a new era as a valued BT partner.”

Charles Scully, key reseller account director, BT, commented: “Freedom will be a key BT partner, helping UK businesses focus on doing what they do best. We are in a unique position to supply Freedom customers with quality network services and products. 21CN is constantly evolving and offers a great potential. We look forward to working closely with Freedom to deliver customer-focused network provision.”

The agreement, worth £1.3 million per year, over three years, was completed on 20 December 2007 and has recently been implemented.
