Fused’s Daniel Priestman Sets Sights on the Last Eden

Daniel Priestman, Senior Account Manager for Fused Networks, part of the Fused Group, will be heading off to Madagascar in September as part of Computer Aid International’s charity cycle challenge. Covering 420km across one of the most ecologically rich and unique countries on the planet, Daniel will be helping the organisation deliver vital IT education to communities in need.

The bike ride will take Daniel on a 5 day adventure through the north east of the Madagascar, the ‘Last Eden’, cycling through highland villages and paddy fields, lush tropical fruit plantations and coastal trails. The terrain is an exciting combination of tarmac and dusty red-earth off road trails. Far away from the modern comforts of daily life, this will be an unforgettable experience for Daniel and an excellent way of raising funds for Computer Aid International.

Computer Aid International is the world’s largest non-profit supplier of computers to developing countries and it works with companies in the UK to encourage them to donate their end of life PCs for re-use in schools and community organisations in the developing world attempting to reduce the digital divide between developed and developing countries. As part of the trip, Daniel will visit schools that have benefited from Computer Aid International’s work.

Daniel comments ‘‘I’m extremely excited (if slightly apprehensive) about the trip, it is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness for the demand for computers and need for technological advancement in the developing world and it seems to have struck a chord with some of our IT channel partners as there is an obvious link.’
